Bollywood divas deny plastic surgery, swear they're real!

Apart from warding off rumours about link-ups, there is another allegation that Bollywood actresses often find themselves dealing with — one that involves claims of them going ‘under the knife’.
Anushka Sharma, who made headlines for her ‘puffy upper lip’ after she made an appearance on Karan Johar’s chat show recently, released a statement earlier this week clearing the air, denying vehemently that she has not got a lip job. And she isn’t the only one who has faced such an allegation.
Here, we take a look at several other actresses who have been in the news for similar reasons and the techniques they have adopted to deny the news.
Although Priyanka’s alleged nose job is evident if you compare her pictures from many years ago, she has always denied the same. In an interview with a news agency in 2012, she spoke about cosmetic surgery in general, saying, “Cosmetic surgery becomes wrong only when it becomes a disease and you stop loving yourself for what you are. When you start thinking that a surgeon’s knife can make you look better than what God gave you… so it is important to accept who you are.”
Soon after Sushmita Sen won the Miss Universe title in 1994, she apparently underwent breast-enhancement surgery and got silicone implants. Back then, a leading newspaper revealed in a report that she was one of the first actresses to have gone ‘under the knife’.
Post the release of Jism (2003), Bipasha Basu’s enhanced figure came under the scanner, as reports alleged that she had indeed gone ‘under the knife’ for breast enhancement. The change in her figure became evident in her forthcoming films.
In 2009, when Koena Mitra stepped out, there was something different about her face. Subsequently, reports revealed that the cosmetic surgery she underwent — rhinoplasty and breasts implants— had gone horribly wrong. But Koena didn’t shy away from what had happened, and dealt with it boldly. In an interview to a tabloid in 2013, she said, “Whenever a cosmetic surgery goes wrong, people say I was the first brave one to talk about it.”
Although she has never admitted it, reports of Sridevi getting a nose job have been rampant for many years.
She was always known for her cute and chubby look in films. Then, sometime around 2006, with Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, everyone took notice of Preity’s refreshed look. As expected, in no time, rumours started doing the rounds, some claiming she got a cosmetic facelift, while others claimed that botox injections were at work.
In 2009, when Kangana Ranaut returned from a short vacation in Italy, reports flooded the news claiming that she had got a lip job and surgery for silicone implants to enhance her breasts. Her role in the 2011 film Rascals (in which she is seen in a bikini) only further fuelled the rumour. But Kangana’s spokesperson denied the news entirely, saying, “Kangana has a shellfish allergy, which caused a reaction. She’s been shooting incessantly for the past two months. It is ridiculous to think she has time for any such surgery.”
If you were to go by Shilpa Shetty’s photographs from the ’90s (from films like Baazigar, 1993, and Main Khiladi Tu Anari, 1994) even you would wonder whether she is the same actress who has featured in films like Dhadkan (2000) and Dostana (2008). Rumours claim that she underwent this transformation while she was shooting for Dhadkan. Director Dharmesh Darshan had reportedly recommended it, but Shilpa has never admitted to getting any such surgery done.
