Wondering what you’re going to wear this Raksha Bandhan? City multi-designer store Shray by Abha and Shreya Singhania, have organised a trunk show of festive collections by Nikasha Tawadey till August 7. Nikasha, known for her vibrant Indian creations with a boho-chic twist, is back with a signature line suited to fit the forthcoming festive occasions.
This collection is inspired from the Krishna Lila theme, the cowherd prince well versed in sensuous flirtation perennially enjoying a boat ride or in grove with his lotus eyed lovers dressed sumptuously in intoxicating colours and seductive silhouettes. “Nikasha’s designs have a unique ‘joie de vivre’ quality, which can be compared to the excitement and anticipation that the festive season holds,” says Shreya.
This collection keeps its spirit of ‘joie de vivre’ (cheerful joyment) alive by encompassing playful shades of gulabi, pitambari and mango. Lehengas and kalidars are partnered with voluminous skirts and backless cholis with dainty danglers as accessories.
All this is complemented with intricate embroidery and embellishments using kundan work, resham and precious /zardosi work. The fabrics used are silk muslin, silk chiffon and georgette with hand-woven benarsi brocades.
Shray in a short span of time has become known for its eclectic mix of offerings from cutting edge western wear to ethnic garments, accessories and jewels.
