Earthy hues rule WIFW ramp on Day 1

The 2008 edition of India's most notable fashion extravaganza, Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW), kickstarts with designer Vikram Phadnis's show. Deepti Kaul has the details.

India's most notable fashion extravaganza, The Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, kicked off with designer Vikram Phadnis's show in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Inspired by nature, the show was based on the theme 'save the earth'.

The show started with a ballet sequence giving an environment saving message. The first sequence saw warm, neutral, and earthy colours followed by muted tones of cream and ivory.

The collection saw jackets, knee length dresses, pleated skirts and shirts. Most of the outfits were done with beautiful embroidery. Apart from head gears, big bags in bold colours were used as accessories.
