Shilpa Shetty, Kangana Ranaut, Yami Gautam: Meet the showstoppers of India Couture Week
The countdown to India Couture Week, presented by Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance, has begun. Amid the elaborate lehengas and extravagant gowns sashaying down the runway, the FDCI Couture Week will also have Bollywood stars as showstoppers for some of the top names in the fashion fraternity.
A few Bollywood names confirmed as of now are actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Kangana Ranaut, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Yami Gautam.
Designer Anju Modi, who is doing a collection inspired by the Victorian era, will have Kangana Ranaut walk as the showstopper for her. “Kangana has that Victorian feel and attitude that is needed for my show. She became the choice for my show after I saw her looks in Rangoon. It was spellbinding and Kangana is surely going to storm the ramp,” says Modi.
Designer Reynu Taandon, who confirmed that Yami would walk the ramp for her, says, “My new collection is for the woman who follows tradition yet has a contemporary appeal. Yami’s vivaciousness and versatility is the common factor that brings us together.”
Praising the Kaabil actor, Taandon adds, “I’ve liked Yami since the beginning and we’ve met a couple of times before. I find her face very appealing.”
Designer Tarun Tahiliani is excited to have Padmaavat actor Aditi Rao Hydari walk for him. “I’m looking forward to seeing her in our couture and walk at the show with allure and panache. She radiates this effortless poise and has her very own individualistic style. This makes her the quintessential TT muse — the woman who knows herself and the woman who looks like herself, the woman who’s not weighed down by the burden of projection,” says Tahiliani.
Among the front-row attendees, Pyaar Ka Punchnama actor Ishita Raj Sharma will be present at Taandon’s show along with the who’s who of Delhi’s social circuit.
India Couture Week, presented by Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance, will be on from July 25 to July 29, in Delhi.
