About 500 applicants applied for the hunt through their agencies and social networking sites. For some a dream came true, while for some they were shattered, as of 500 only about 150 were finally lucky enough to strut their stuff in front of the judges.
The jury included renowned anchor and actor Mandira Bedi, model-turned actor Rahul Dev, designers Rohit Bal, Manoviraj Khosla, Varun Bahl, Rohit Gandhi, Anjana Bhargav and Model Nayanika Chatterjee. The jury members selected models on several attributes…
Rahul Dev said, "I wanna see stars on the runway." While Mandira Bedi was looking for - "young men who have presence," Manoviraj Khosla was looking for - "a good clothes horse." Noyonika Chatterjee said that the criteria was "not necessarily the most beautiful face" but "someone who's very comfortable with himself".
10-12 models where short-listed in the first leg in Delhi. The second edition of the Van Heusen India Men's Week will be conducted from August 27 to 29 at The Grand, New Delhi. The final list of models will be declared after the Mumbai auditions, which will be held on July 13, 2010.
