From semi-permanent tattoos to being drawn with makeup: A happy spread of freckles is in trend. Would you dare to take on this look?

Going au naturale has been in trend for a while now. From barely-there makeup to no makeup at all (even on the red carpet), an individual sense of beauty is a cause for celebration. And this is why sun-kissed freckles are being hailed by beauty vloggers across the globe, with these little specks of happiness making it even to the runway. Last season, the trend was also big on Indian ramps, and version 2017 is going a bit ahead with makeup specially designed to draw freckles along with freckle patches and even tattoos (yes, tattoos!).

How vloggers do it:

On her beauty channel online, Miranda Hedman uses her brow kit (a palette of medium and dark brown) to create a smattering of freckles on the bridge of her nose and the apple of the cheeks.

Sonjdra Deluxe, another beauty blogger uses the ‘layering’ technique to put her freckles on. She uses a brow pencil to draw in the first layer with tiny dots across the nose, forehead, cheekbones and the chin. Then, she uses a gel eyeliner and a fine brush to darken the spots.

Semi-permanent freckles:

Cosmetic freckles are here. Canada-based artist Gabrielle Rainbow made the craze go mainstream when she posted a picture of one of her clients sporting a cute smattering of ink made to look like freckles. “these #tattooedfreckles will last about two years, and will soften up and look more natural when they are healed,” she shared on Instagram. Would you do it?
