She has been busy with multiple films, live performances and endorsements but that hasn’t stopped Priyanka Chopra from chalking out her look for best friend Tamanna Sharma’s wedding next week. Interestingly, she has also been personally planning Tamanna’s wedding arrangements. As for her look at the ceremony, Priyanka has decided to stay away from designer saris and instead chosen two from her mother’s personal wardrobe. Apparently, one of them is a traditional heavily embroidered sari, which she is likely to wear during the main function.
For the uninitiated, Priyanka raised temperatures when she wore a sari in the Dostana song, ‘Desi girl…’ “Priyanka is very keen to reprise the traditional and indigenous Indian look in the family. That’s why she has opted for her mother’s sari and not a jazzy garment for the function. She is also helping Tamanna choose her wedding attire,” says a source close to PC.
When contacted, Priyanka — busy with Krrish 2 and Teri Meri Kahani — confirmed picking up her mom’s saris but refused to get into details. Her stylist Ami Patel, though, was more forthcoming. “Tamanna’s wedding is like a family function for everyone including PC. Plus, it’s a very emotional moment for Priyanka since she’s been friends with Tamanna since they were children. So she is making it special in whatever way she can,” says Ami.
It’s believed that Priyanka — who played the host at the Ambani bash for Sachin Tendulkar recently — will be hosting her best friend’s wedding. And in fact, she is readying right now to fly to Rajasthan for the wedding functions.
Apparently, she has been reading wedding magazines and scouring websites for themes and ideas. Also, she is believed to have checked out destinations besides making arrangements over the phone with high-profile designers and caterers.
