Standing seven feet tall, a giant stiletto, which is an art instillation, is grabbing eyeballs at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week.

Trèsmode, the official footwear partner for LFW, has unveiled a one-of-a-kind seven-foot tall giant stiletto at the the Grand Hyatt. Offering a unique experience to its shoe lovers, this exclusive display also marks the launch of Trèsmode's Fall-Winter 2010 collection.

"We wanted to do something different and go beyond the conventional. We wanted to give it a furturistic style and wanted it to be viewed as a piece of art," Trèsmode CEO Kapil Mahtani told IANS.

"This gigantic and artistic shoe is our way to surprise our clients and remind them about Trèsmode's identity, which is influenced by spectacular and empowering fashion and reflects our coveted runway style."

The shoe has been hand crafted by Paul B who used 60 kilos of fragile aluminium wire mesh to make it. It took him 10 days to complete it.

Speaking about the eye-catching installation, Paul B said: "It's a towering shoe that resembles a cocoon spun by a silk worm, out of which is about to emerge a beautiful butterfly. It symbolises the emergence of a fashion forward diva. With this shoe, we've created a playground for an urban fairytale."
