It is often said that travel is the only thing you spend on which makes you richer. Though it is always blissful to gaze at the beautiful hills and rivers as they pass from the window of your train, ­journeying can often take a toll on your skin. Here are some tips on how you can fix your beauty problems.
1 Dry skin: Your skin can become really dry and flaky because of the weather change. Drink lots of water before, during and after your travel. It will keep your skin hydrated. Avoid alcohol, as it can dehydrate your skin.
2 Swollen legs: Sitting at one place while ­travelling can restrict blood flow, so try to get up and walk around a little every ­couple of hours in order to boost circulation. You can also apply cedar oil to your legs to help increase blood circulation.
3 Dark circles: Travelling may also result in dull skin and dark circles under your eyes. Use cold tea bags to cool your eyes. Use of sunscreen of SPF 30 or more is a must, as sun damage will cause early wrinkles and freckles.
4 Acne: Always wash your hands and carry a ­sanitiser so that your hands are clean and no dust is transferred from your hands to your face. Remove your make-up and don’t forget to apply a non-comedogenic lotion as it doesn’t clog skin pores.
5 Coarse hair: Before shampooing, rinse your hair with bottled water. It will reduce its capacity to absorb calcium. In case of soft water, wash with a dry shampoo and condition later.
6 Dry feet: The best ­solution for your feet is to apply glycerin on them before sleeping. It will moisturise them overnight.
