Some hoped that the situation may improve if MCG takes the job under its fold as it is more equipped to take up massive maintenance work. However, many were sceptical, given the MCG’s poor track record.

RS Rathee, former president of DLF Qutub Enclave RWA and president of Gurgaon Citizens’ Council (GCC), said RWAs would get an opportunity to maintain their localities once these were transferred to agencies such as MCG or Huda.

“At present, the only RWAs of condominiums get the opportunity to take care of maintenance work in their respective localities,” he added.

Ravi Wahi, a resident of Palam Vihar, said, “I would prefer private maintenance company to the civic body. I don’t think that government agencies are equipped enough to take care of private colonies.”

Sanjeev Handa, a resident of Sushant Lok, said, “A private maintenance company is more accountable than MCG. Residents can approach private agencies easily. In government departments, nobody is responsible or accountable.”
