The victim’s family and many others staged a protest outside the hospital, blocking traffic for hours.

The police pacified the protesters by promising to conduct an investigation in the matter.

The girl’s body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem.

According to police sources, Ashok Sharma, the victim’s father, had given Priyanshi a digestive medicine after she complained of stomach ache. The police said that she was temporarily relieved but the next day she again felt unwell.

“Sharma, a resident of Sector 9A in Gurgaon, rushed her to a nearby doctor on Friday who advised that a paediatrician be consulted,” said a police officer.

Priyanshi was admitted to Sheetla Hospital, where she was made to undergo a series of tests. The family claimed that the girl was admitted to the intensive care unit and not a single doctor visited her the entire night.

On Saturday morning, a doctor examined her and gave her an injection after referring to her medical file.

On being injected, the victim’s heartbeat suddenly shot up and the doctor fled the spot leaving her in that condition, claimed her family members.

ACP Narendra Kadyan said: “The victim’s samples have been sent to the forensic lab at Madhuban. On the basis of the reports, we will conduct further investigation.”
