Main accused in techie murder case sent to judicial custody

Rajat Singh, the main accused in the murder of a 21-year-old software engineer, was sent to judicial custody after two days of police remand on Wednesday.

He was arrested on Sunday in connection with the two-year-old murder case of engineering student Parveen Kumar. The accused, who had completed a pilot’s course in 2007, had been jobless since then and had started his own event management company.

Parveen Kumar, had gone missing on October 24, 2010, from his Sushant Lok flat where he had been living with his friends.

Rajat Singh reportedly admitted during the police remand that he murdered Praveen Kumar with his friend Sachin’s help, then dumped the dead body.
