The police commissioner of Gurgaon will inaugurate the new post. The post was proposed by joint commissioner of police, Maheshwar Dayal, on January 25 this year.

The move came after complaints could not be registered due to jurisdiction problem on MG Road forcing victims to run from pillar to post.

According to the police, the new post would integrate areas of both the sides of MG Road.

The police post would have 23 personnel, including representatives of the Sector-29 police station and DLF City (Phase-2) police station.

Any victim or complainant, approaching the police post, would be taken to the police station concerned by the representative.

A copy of the FIR would, however, be available at the police station. The move will help victims register complaints swiftly instead of wasting time finding the area police station, especially in cases of chain snatching and molestation.

The post would be equipped with CCTV cameras and other electronic gadgets.
