In a police complaint, Sunila Chauhan has alleged that her son, Snehdeep Sehgal (23), had been repeatedly assaulting her to extort money.
Snehdeep is Chauhan's son from her second marriage.
She is currently separated from her second husband.
Chauhan, a resident of Sector 4 in Old Gurgaon, alleged that she had approached the Gurgaon police several times but all in vain.
"I have filed three police complaints but they ask me to file a civil court case. My elder son and daughter-in-law are also after my property," she alleged.
Chauhan gives English tuition classes and earns Rs 14,000 per month to make ends meet.
On the other hand, the police claimed that they had intervened on Chauhan's request.
"We tried to settle the matter but failed," said inspector Rampal Singh, officer, senior citizen's cell.
Meanwhile, Snehdeep Sehgal could not be contacted for his comments.
