All sports and outdoor activities will help you stay healthy. To stay fit, you could join a gym.
I am 15 years old. My height is 5’2” and my weight is 36 kg. I want to increase both my height and weight. I play two sports daily, and choose from swimming, badminton, table tennis and cricket. Will swimming help me increase height and weight?
Rajendra, you are 15 years old and still have three years to go before you start worrying about your height. Height is usually determined by genetics, and sports such as swimming can definitely help as it allows the spine to get stretched.
Cycling can also be helpful. All sports and outdoor activities will help you stay healthy. To stay fit, you could join a gym when you are older. Also, take care of your diet.
My height is 5’7”, weight is 75 kg and I am a pure vegetarian. I have sportsman’s Hernia on the upper left abdomen. I want to know if I can continue to workout. What exercises are good for me?
Hi Deepak. A Sportsman’s Hernia is the most common form of hernia, caused due to improper support while playing a rigorous sport or exercising in a gym. It’s important to wear a good athletic supporter, which can help prevent this condition and even prevent its recurrence in the future. If you have been operated for hernia and are in rehab, you should start with swimming to strengthen your inner thigh muscles and stretch after the workout.
Cycling can be the next stage to a good recovery. Correct stretching is the most important factor in an early recovery from such an injury. You can start with your regular workout only after complete recovery. Please ask your doctor about this. With regard to your diet, eat protein-rich food which isn’t oily or spicy, as it will help your muscles rebuild faster.
