India is on the verge of becoming the global capital of heart disease. Changing lifestyle factors like increased smoking and alcohol intake, sedentary lifestyle further contribute to heart diseases. Food, especially some fruits and vegetables and seeds, have a therapeutic effect on heart disease. A few are listed below:-

Pineapple
It has a high amount of bromelain, which is one of the most powerful protein digesting enzymes. The anti-clotting action helps prevent strokes and heart attack, and increases blood flow by dilating the muscles that surround major blood vessels.

Flaxseeds
Flaxseeds or alsi have oils reduce clot formation in the body and helps in keeping the blood thin. Rich in essential fatty acids, flaxseed’s heart healing attributes qualify it as as a healing herb.

Ginger
Ginger is a herb with anti clotting ability. It’s constituent called zingiberenei has cholesterol lowering properties that helps treat heart diseases.
