Motivated by the success of Titanic in 3D, the studio will embark on a similar 3D conversion for Roland Emmerich's film starring Will Smith, 17 years after its original release.

In 1996, Will Smith saved the Earth from an alien invasion in his role as a US Air Force captain. His battle against the invaders earned more than $800 million accross the world. The 3D conversion will be done by Stereo 3D, the company that handled conversion for this year's Titanic re-release.
