Ben Affleck groped me when I was a kid. I didn’t forget: Actor Hilarie Burton

The dominoes are falling. Amid allegations that Hollywood studio boss, Harvey Weinstein, had sexually assaulted and harassed several women, actor and TV host Hilarie Burton threw another name into the mix: She alleged that in 2003, when she was just a kid, Ben Affleck groped her.

On Tuesday, Affleck, whose career got a boost after starring in films produced by Weinstein, broke his silence in a long Facebook post. “I am saddened and angry that a man who I worked with used his position of power to intimidate, sexually harass and manipulate many women over decades. The additional allegations of assault that I read this morning made me sick. This is completely unacceptable, and I find myself asking what I can do to make sure this doesn’t happen to others. We need to do better at protecting our sisters, friends, co-workers and daughters. We must support those who come forward, condemn this type of behaviour when we see it and help ensure there are more women in positions of power,” he wrote.

After a Twitter user noted that “He also grabbed Hilarie Burton’s breasts on TRL once. Everyone forgot though,” Burton, 35, replied, “I didn’t forget.”

Weinstein has been accused of sexual harassment and assault by several female actors. News of Weinstein’s actions were revealed in a series of stories by the New York Times and the New Yorker.

Rose McGowan, a prime accuser in the case, on Wednesday called Affleck a liar, saying that he was fully aware of Weinstein’s actions, but didn’t take necessary actions. She wrote on Twitter, “@benaffleck “GODDAMNIT! I TOLD HIM TO STOP DOING THAT” you said that to my face. The press conf I was made to go to after assault. You lie.”

Affleck’s brother, Casey, was in 2016 involved in a sexual assault case. Burton is married to actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played Thomas Wayne, father of Affleck’s character Bruce, in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
