The gory, off-kilter movie sequel to the Brothers Grimm tale, titled Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, promises blood, witch-induced bodily explosions and general mischief.
A new age-restricted trailer shows off the movie's gory aspirations.
Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton portray the siblings 15 years after the events depicted in the tale: Hansel and Gretel are all grown up and peddle their trade as cold-blooded witch-hunters.
A clever mix of high-octane action and punchlines, Hansel & Gretel will hit theaters on January 25 in North America.
The story will pit the siblings against a coalition of vengeful witches led by Famke Janssen (Taken 2).
