Hollywood actor Chloe Moretz is set to star in the upcoming film, Carrie, a new adaptation of author Stephen King’s horror classic of the same name. The film will be directed by Kimberly Peirce, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

“Never been so happy in my life! Thank you Kim Peirce and thank u MGM for the chance of a lifetime i will never forget! (sic),” Moretz posted on microblogging site Twitter. The 15-year-old will play the lead character, Carrie, who acquires telepathic and telekinetic powers with the onset of puberty. Actor Sissy Spacek played the character in the original, directed by Brian De Palma in 1976.
Moretz has also starred in other horror remakes— The Amityville Horror and Let Me In. In 2010, the actor played a foul-mouthed assassin in comic-book adaptation, Kick-Ass.
