The film, based on the best-selling novel by Romain Puertolas, is scheduled to be filmed in Mumbai, Paris, Brussels and Rome. The book itself is a globetrotting comedic adventure.
Marjane Satrapi, the acclaimed French filmmaker/graphic novelist was initially slated to direct the film, but has since been replaced by Ken Scott, who had kind things to say about Dhanush in an interview with Variety. “What’s great is I get to work with a great actor, Dhanush, who is a huge star in India, he’s a great actor, but also a great dancer, a great singer, he has a very unique way of dancing and moving, he’s just very charming,” he said.
The film has no release date and stars Berenice Bejo, Barkhad Abdi, Erin Moriarty, Seema Biswas and Laurent Lafitte. It was initially reported that Uma Thurman would also star, but the film’s IMDb page does not mention her.
