Idris Elba fuels speculation that he’s the next James Bond
Idris Elba has been speculated to the be frontrunner to play James Bond after Daniel Craig.
Idris Elba has posted a cryptic tweet suggesting he could be the next James Bond. It was believed that the actor was one of the frontrunners for the role after Daniel Craig’s term as the super British spy, James Bond, ends and the actor’s recent tweet has only fuelled the speculations further.

The actor who is known for his role in The Wire took to Twitter and wrote, “My name’s Elba, Idris Elba.” Along with it, he shared a selfie of himself.
A few hours later, the actor tweeted again and this time he wrote, “Don’t believe the HYPE...” Was the actor just teasing his fans then?
According to a report in Daily Star UK, producer Barbara Broccoli told director Antoine Fuqua that “it is time” for the character of Bond to be portrayed by a man of minor ethnicity. She was apparently even certain that “it will happen eventually”.
The director had added, “Idris could do it if he was in shape. You need a guy with physically strong presence. Idris has that.”
Daniel Craig’s next Bond film is slated to release in 2019 and the film will be directed by Danny Boyle. The makers had released a statement in which they said, “We are delighted to announce that the exceptionally talented Danny Boyle will be directing Daniel Craig in his fifth outing as James Bond in the 25th instalment of the franchise.”
