The 31-year-old, who has featured in movies like 10 Things I Hate About You, Killshot and Inception, says cutting the scenes will not affect the movie, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
"Yes, we expect we have to do that (cut a sex scene) and I'll be getting started on it as soon as I get back (to the U.S.)... It won't affect the movie if we change that... I think it is important that those images are in there but what precisely you see isn't that important," Gordon-Levitt said during a press conference at the Berlin film festival.
"What's important is the rhythm of the film, the repetition of what the Don Jon character does, over and over," he added.
The movie also stars Scarlett Johansson and is expected to release during summer this year.
