During an appearance on ITV's 'This Morning' show, the veteran actor explained to fellow actor Samuel L. Jackson that when he was diagnosed with the debilitating disease, he was about to go on a big tour for his movie 'Wall Street' and didn't want to cancel it, Newsmax.com reported.

The 'Basic Instinct' star asserted that he was planning to announce his tongue cancer and continue with the tour, but doctors advised him otherwise.

His doctors believed that he shouldn't reveal that he had a disease with such a negative prognosis on the eve of a massive press tour, asserted Douglas, who is currently separated from wife Catherine Zeta-Jones.
