The official poster for the upcoming 84th Annual Academy Awards has been unveiled. What’s special is that it pays homage to eight notable motion pictures across eight decades in Hollywood.

The official poster for the upcoming 84th Annual Academy Awards has been unveiled. What’s special is that it pays homage to eight notable motion pictures across eight decades in Hollywood.
Adorned with three words, Life. Camera. Action, the artwork features the golden statuette next to images from Gone with the Wind, Casablanca, Giant, The Sound of Music, The Godfather, Driving Miss Daisy, Forrest Gump and Gladiator, reports aceshowbiz.com.
Seven of those won Best Picture, while one movie, Giant, earned George Stevens, a Best Director nod.
The newly-released poster’s design "is meant to evoke the emotional connections we all have with the movies,” said Academy president Tom Sherak.
