As predicted, The King's Speech has won the most coveted Best Picture Award at the 83rd Academy Awards leaving behind Black Swan, The Fighter, Inception, The Kids Are All Right, 127 Hours, The Social Network, Toy Story 3, True Grit and Winter's Bone.

While actress Natalie Portman won her first Oscar for best actress for Black Swan at the prestigious 83rd Academy Awards, actor Colin Firth won the best actor Oscar for his role in The King's Speech.

Portman beat Annette Bening for The Kids Are All Right, Nicole Kidman for Rabbit Hole, Jennifer Lawrence of Winter's Bone and Michelle Williams of Blue Valentine.

Firth was competing with Javier Bardem for Biutiful, Jeff Bridges for True Grit, Jesse Eisenberg for The Social Network, and James Franco for 127 Hours.
