22-year-old man arrested for molesting minor girl in Sector 14

Earlier in the day, the girl’s mother had filed a police complaint alleging that the man, who lived in their neighbourhood, had molested her daughter and used to follow her when she went to school or coaching classes. The police said the girl had warned the accused several times, but he did not mend his ways.

Subhash Boken, spokesperson, Gurugram police, said the accused, was arrested on Monday night and sent to judicial custody on Tuesday. “During interrogation, he confessed to committing the crime,” said Boken.

A case was registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at the women police station (west) on Monday, said the police.

In another case, three persons, including a woman, were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly misbehaving and stalking their former employer. The police said the victim runs a business in the city and had recently fired the accused men for negligence and for being unproductive at work.

The police said the accused, two men and a woman, followed the woman when she was taking a walk at Rajiv Chowk on Monday. In the complaint, she alleged that the two men held her hand, after which the woman misbehaved with her. The woman raised an alarm and the passersby alerted a police team stationed near the spot, following which the accused were arrested. A case was registered against the accused persons under relevant sections of IPC at the women police station (west).
