Senior officials in the information and broadcasting ministry said though AIR has been running a service in Baluchi language, since 1974, the broadcaster is looking at augment the news bulletin component.

The Baluchi language service began on May 26, 1974 with an hour long broadcast, which includes news, music and discussions.

According to sources the bulletins to counter propaganda against India could be increased.

The Baluchi language service will be run by the External Services Division (ESD) of AIR that broadcasts daily in 57 transmissions covering over 108 countries in 27 languages.

It is learnt that the duration of the bulletins is 10 minutes, which could be increased.
