An officer at Lakhura police station, where the victim woman lodged an FIR on Tuesday, said the incident allegedly took place at Ajgarwa village on March 16. “She reported the matter only after the video clip went viral on the social media,” Lakhura police station sub-inspector Devendra Chowdhary said.

In her statement, the mother of a seven-year-old child, said co-villagers Krishna Sahani, Dipak Sahani, Gokarn Sahani, Dayanand Sahani and Nand Kishore Sahani raped her at gunpoint near a canal at Ajgarwa village when she was collecting cattle feed. They also filmed the incident on cellphone and uploaded it on the social media, she alleged.

Police said a team had been constituted to conduct raids at possible hideouts of the accused and arrest them at the earliest.
