Important files related to the fodder scam have gone missing from the Bihar animal and fisheries resources department office in Patna.
According to sources, the missing files are said to be linked to the mid-1990s fodder scam. An FIR has been registered at the old secretariat police station.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Nitin Naveen raised objections to the way Nitish Kumar-led grand alliance government in Bihar is functioning and questioned whether RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav is being protected.
“Nitish Kumar should tell how why he is protecting Lalu Yadav. The files that have gone missing are linked to Lalu Yadav. Nitish Kumar’s action is affecting the future of Bihar,” he said.
In the so-called fodder scam, Rs 9.4 billion were allegedly embezzled from the government treasury of Bihar.
It also includes, allegedly fraudulent, withdrawal of around 1,000 crore rupees by animal husbandry department from various districts of Bihar when Yadav was the Bihar chief minister from 1990 to 1997.
