‘Instead of toppling other govts...’: Manish Sisodia's 'serial killers' dig at BJP
Sisodia, who is being probed by the CBI for alleged corruption in the Delhi excise policy scam, made the remarks while speaking to reporters in Himachal Pradesh, where the elections are due in the coming months.
Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday attacked the BJP amid claims that the saffron camp is working to topple the Arvind Kejriwal-led government in the national capital. Sisodia said the BJP should rather be focussing on working for the people instead of "frightening and toppling other state governments".

"Instead of toppling other state govts & frightening them, they (BJP) should better work for the people. It can happen with fewer efforts than bringing down the govts. They're 'serial killers' & are murdering democracy," news agency ANI quoted Sisodia as saying.

The AAP has claimed horse-trading by the BJP amid what they claim is the growing popularity of Arvind Kejriwal ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Arvind Kejriwal earlier in the day questioned the source of the ₹800 crore that he said was allegedly offered by the BJP to 40 AAP MLAs for switching sides.
"They (BJP) offered ₹20 crore each to our MLAs. They have kept ₹800 crore for toppling the Delhi government. But the citizens of the country want to know about the source of this money. Is it from GST or the PM CARES Fund? Have some of their friends given them this money?" he had asked.
Meanwhile, the party has asserted that all the attempts to topple the AAP government have failed. The party said this following a meeting of its legislators at Kejriwal's residence on Thursday after it claimed earlier that some of them had been “unreachable”.
AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said BJP attempts to poach AAP lawmakers have failed. “Altogether 53 out of 62 MLAs [members of legislative assembly] were present at the meeting. [Deputy chief minister] Manish Sisodia is in Himachal Pradesh and Speaker Ram Niwas Goel is outside the country. CM [the chief minister] spoke to other MLAs over the phone and everyone said they are with Kejriwal till their last breath,” said Bharadwaj.
