Samajwadi Party MP Naresh Agarwal on Monday alleged that the Mehbooba Mufti-led regime in Jammu and Kashmir is colluding with terrorists, as he asked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to withdraw support to the state government.
Further taking a dig at the BJP, he said after the Sukma Maoist attack, the Modi government “could not act tough against them (Maoists) due to vote bank politics”.
The Rajya Sabha member also stressed on giving “full freedom” to security forces so that they can give a befitting reply to Maoists for attacking the CRPF jawans in Chhattisgarh.
On reports that the Congress might contest the upcoming UP civic bodies polls alone, Agarwal said, “If Raj Babbar (UPCC chief) wants to contest alone, his party will itself see how many seats it gets.”
The Samajwadi Party had forged an alliance with the Congress ahead of the UP assembly polls earlier this year, leaving 105 of the 403 seats for the latter while contesting on 298 seats itself.
The SP won on 47 seats, while the Congress managed to get only seven seats which had left Congress workers wondering whether the alliance was of any use.
