Mohan Bhagwat speaks in support of LGBT community: ‘Should have their own private space'

"The simple truth is this – Hindusthan should remain Hindusthan. There is no harm to the Muslims living today in Bharat... Islam has nothing to fear. But at the same time, Muslims must abandon their boisterous rhetoric of supremacy. We are of an exalted race; we once ruled over this land, and shall rule it again; only our path is right, rest everyone is wrong; we are different, therefore we will continue to be so; we cannot live together – they (Muslims) must abandon this narrative. In fact, all those who live here – whether a Hindu or a communist – must give up this logic," Mohan Bhagwat said.

In the interview, Mohan Bhagwat said the there has been an awakening in the Hindu society which explains the new-found aggression among the Hindus. Bhagwat said India has remained Akhand from the earliest times but was divided every time the core Hindu sense was forgotten.

On the role of the RSS in mainstream politics, Mohan Bhagwat said Sangh is held accountable for whatever Swayamsevaks do in politics. Even if we are not implicated directly by others, there is certainly some accountability as ultimately it is in the Sangh where Swayamsevaks are trained. Therefore, we are forced to think – what should be our relationship, which things we should pursue (in the national interest) with due diligence," he said.

On the issue of population control, Mohan Bhagwat said when there are means to control the population it should be done so that population does not control people.
