The woman, identified as Nargis, was left with broken bones in her hands as well as injuries on her back, and her parents took her to Muzaffarnagar where she was admitted to the district hospital on January 17.
Based on the woman’s complaint, police registered a case against husband Shaan Mohammad, who is on the run, her mother-in-law and two more people.
It was alleged that Mohammad, who married Nargis of of Khatauli in Muzaffarnagar five years ago, had been demanding dowry and he pushed her off the terrace when she refused to meet his demands, police said.
