In Mann ki Baat, PM Modi highlights women empowerment, drug-free Bharat campaign

Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged citizens, especially young people and content creators, to contribute to the campaign for a drug-free Bharat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted and hailed the contribution of women to the workforce, saying the PM SVANidhi Yojana is helping lakhs of women street vendors expand their businesses, increase their incomes, and build a better future for their families.

In the 137th episode of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi added that Mission ShaktiSAT is bringing together girl students from 108 countries and providing them with an opportunity to learn about satellite technology while exploring new frontiers in science, technology, and innovation.

"On the streets of our cities and towns, every day from dawn till dusk, lakhs of women remain busy in their work… Lakhs of women are getting new strength with PM SVANidhi Scheme. Around 46% of the beneficiaries of the PM SVANidhi Scheme are women, which means nearly 35 lakh women are using this scheme to grow their businesses..."

The prime minister also highlighted Mumbai-based Krishna Seshadri's initiative, India's Interactive Historical Atlas, to make the country's history more accessible and interesting. He also urged citizens, especially young people and content creators, to contribute to the campaign for a drug-free Bharat.

"You go to this website, choose any one year, and you will get to know who ruled which part of Bharat at that time. This was done by Mumbai's Krishna Sheshadri."
