Suspected Maoists killed one person and injured another in separate incidents in Kothagudem district of Telangana, police said on Saturday.

They also burnt down some lorries and other vehicles at a sand ramp (where sand is accumulated) at Bhupatiraopet village of the district last night, they said.

These attacks were carried out by Maoists who entered into Telangana from Chhattisgarh after crossing the Godavari river, police said.

The Maoists stabbed to death a man after branding him a “police informer”, they said.

In another incident, they fired at a man, suspecting him to be a police informer, at Sundarayya Nagar. The man suffered a bullet injury in the right hand, they said.

He was admitted to a hospital, where his condition is stable, police said.

The rebels later went back to Chhattisgarh, they added.
