Prime Minister Narendra Modi extolled the benefits of the NDA government’s schemes at a rally in Mirzapur on Sunday, where he was wrapping up a two-day visit to eastern Uttar Pradesh. Modi said his government was working on bringing out a National Health Protection Scheme soon.
During his visit to Mirzapur, the Prime Minister dedicated the Bansagar Canal Project to the nation, lay the foundation stone for the Mirzapur Medical College, inaugurated 108 Jan Aushadhi Kendras and launched various development projects. He also dedicated a bridge over the Ganga river at Balughat, Chunar, which will facilitate connectivity between Mirzapur and Varanasi.

Govt schemes bringing people out of poverty: Modi
“A recent international report says five crore people have come out of poverty in the last two year. Isn’t this the fruit of the government’s schemes?,” asks Modi.
“Ujjala Yojana freed women from firewood stoves and helped them spend more time with the family. Under Jan Dhan Yojana, five crore bank accounts were opened in UP. Eighteen lakh houses were built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana,” he says.
Govt working on bringing out ‘Modicare’ soon: PM
“We are bringing about a health insurance scheme soon for the poor. Some people are calling it Modicare. Schemes like life insurance and accident insurance will be available at Re 1 a month and 90 paise per day,” Modi says.
“With such schemes, we are ending the divide between the rich and the poor,” he adds.
Mirzapur Medical College will serve people in Sonbhadra, Badoli, Chandoli and Allahabad: Modi
Modi says several road projects have been introduced to improve connectivity. “The bridge dedicated today will reduce the travel time between Chunar and Varanasi,” he says.
“The Mirzapur Medical College will also serve people in Sonbhadra, Badoli, Chandoli and Allahabad. The district hospital here will have 500 beds now,” says PM.
Want to double farmers’ income by 2022: Modi
“Those who are crying crocodile tears for farmers today, you must ask why they didn’t complete irrigation projects when they were in power. Why did they leave these works incomplete?” asks PM Modi.
“Those who are indulging in politics in the name of farmers had no time to raise the minimum support price. They sat on files. We raised the MSP by 2.5 times,” he says.
“We want to double farmers’ income by 2022,” says PM. Modi tells farmers, “Take advantage of the schemes brought out by the government.”
Mirzapur should have received benefits of Bansagar project much earlier: Modi
“With the Rs 3,500-crore Bansgar project Mirzapur, Allahabad and 1.5 lakh hectares of land in this area will get irrigation facilities. The benefits you will receive when the project is completed, you should have received them much earlier,” says PM Modi.
“When our government came to power in 2014, we found projects and schemes that had been stuck. We brought it under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana and worked to complete it,” he says.
PM Modi addresses rally
“When I came here in March to inaugurate a solar plant, the French president was with me. We were welcomed with a photo of Mata and ‘chunari’. President Macron was very happy and when I told him about Mata’s eminence, he was inspired,” says PM Modi.
“Since Yogi Adityanath took over as chief minister, one can see the fast pace at which purvanchal and uttar Oradesh has progressed,” he says.

“The Bansgar project should have completed a long time ago. Previous governments did not care about the needs of farmers but PM Modi has worked to fulfil their hopes,” Adityanath says.
Congress ruled for 55 years but couldn’t give AIIMS to UP: Adityanath
“Thirteen medical college had been built in UP since independence. PM Narendra Modi gave 13 medical colleges, including AIIMS and a cancer institute in just four years. Congress ruled for 55 years but they couldn’t give AIIMS to UP,” Adityanath says.
BJP connecting people with bridges and roads: Adityanath
UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath addresses the rally. “The previous government have tired to break people apart. We are connecting people with bridges and roads. Many such projects will be launched by the Prime Minister today,” he says.
PM Modi arrives in Mirzapur
PM Narendra Modi has arrived at Chandaipur in Mirzapur. He is welcomed on the dias of the rally venue by UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Ram Naik.
PM launches projects worth Rs 1,000 crore in Varanasi
After the rally in Azamgarh, PM Modi arrived in Varanasi on Saturday where he dedicated the Varanasi City Gas Distribution network to the nation.
The Prime Minister addressed a public rally in Varanasi, his Lok Sabha constituency, and launched development projects worth nearly Rs 1,000 crore for the city and the region around it.
In a late night tour, PM Modi reviewed the ongoing development projects in the city.
PM Modi lying to people of India: Congress
Responding to Modi’s speech, Congress said the prime minister was lying to people of India.
Party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that fearful of defeat in next year’s general election, the PM was introducing poison in society. “With no respect for the office of the PM he holds, Modi tried to sway the country with lies using the name of Rahul Gandhi and Manmohan Singh,” he said.
Modi attacks Congress, calls it party for Muslim men
While addressing a rally at Azamgarh, the Prime Minister attacked the Congress, calling it a party which stood only with Muslim men.
“But I want to ask the Congress whether it is a party of Muslim men alone,” Modi said, referring to Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s recent meeting with Muslim intellectuals.
“The real face of these parties was revealed by their approach on triple talaq,” the Prime Minister said at the public meeting.
PM lays foundation stone for Purvanchal Expressway
PM Modi was in Azamgarh on Saturday, where he laid the foundation stone for the Rs 23,000 crore Purvanchal expressway. The 340-km expressway will connect Lucknow with Ghazipur.
