Narsapur seat: KCR fields women’s panel chief for Telangana polls
Narsapur is among the four seats for which the chief minister did not announce the BRS candidates, when he released the first list of 115 candidates on August 21, for Telangana assembly elections
Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday announced the candidature of former minister and Telangana women’s commission chairperson Vakiti Sunitha Lakshma Reddy for Narsapur assembly constituency in Medak district.

Narsapur is among the four seats for which the chief minister did not announce the BRS candidates, when he released the first list of 115 candidates on August 21, for Telangana assembly elections.
Handing “Form-B” (a form endorsing her as the party candidate) to Sunitha, KCR as the chief minister is popularly known, said that MLA from Narsapur Ch Madan Reddy, who was denied the ticket this time, would be fielded as the party candidate from Medak parliamentary constituency in the 2024 general elections.
“The decision to give ticket to Sunitha was taken at the party core committee meeting held in the morning. It is just an internal adjustment. Madan Reddy would contest the next Lok Sabha elections from Medak,” KCR said.
He requested Madan Reddy to take the responsibility of ensuring Sunitha’s victory in Narsapur.
For Jangaon seat, the BRS has already selected MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, in place of MLA Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy, who was later made the chairman of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation.
The chief minister gave the party ticket to Rajeshwar Reddy on October 15 and introduced him to the people as the party candidate at the public meeting held at Jangaon on the same day.
KCR has made one change in the list of 115 candidates announced in August. He replaced party MLA Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao with another candidate Marri Rajasekhar Reddy, son-in-law of state labour minister Ch Malla Reddy.Though Hanumantha Rao was given the party ticket from Malkajgiri again, he resigned from the party in protest against ticket denial to his son Mynampalli Rohit from Medak. Both Rao and his son joined the Congress recently and were given the party tickets in the first list announced by the party on October 15.
The BRS is yet to announce the candidates for two other seats – Goshamahal and Nampally – both in Hyderabad. In Goshamahal, the BJP announced the candidature of MLA T Raja Singh, after revoking the 15-month-long suspension against him on Sunday. The BRS is likely to field constituency in-charge Nanda Kishore Vyas from there.
In Nampally, which is represented by the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MLA Jaffer Hussain Meraj, the BRS is yet to find a suitable candidate. “In any case, the BRS candidate will be a dummy, as the AIMIM is a friendly party of the BRS,” a party leader, who refused to be quoted, said.
