Panipat: Private school staffer ‘tries to rape’ 9-year-old student, parents protest

Incident comes less than two weeks after an eight-year-old boy was murdered in Gurgaon’s Ryan International School.

An employee of a private school in Panipat allegedly attempted to rape a nine-year-old student on Wednesday morning.

The incident comes less than two weeks after an eight-year-old boy was murdered in another private school in Haryana: Gurgaon’s Ryan International School.

Thursday’s incident was reported from The Millennium School at Ansal City.

Shortly after the alleged incident, the parents of the victim reached school and sat on a protest to demand action.

Police registered a case against the unidentified person under the POCSO Act.

The deputy superintendent of police of Panipat, Vidyapati, told HT that a medical test of the girl has been conducted and some scratches on her shoulders were found.
