According to sources in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a majority of the MPs had not submitted the report concerning their constituencies, thereby angering the Prime Minister, who ticked them off at the Parliamentary Party meeting on Tuesday.
Modi asked them to submit the progress reports online to the minister of state in prime minister’s office Jitendra Singh or directly to him.
The report must contain details of the work done by the lawmakers and the status of the implementation of various central schemes, he added.
In an earlier Parliamentary Party meeting, the Prime Minister had noted that the MPs too had completed two years in office and it was their responsibility to inform the people about the works carried out by the government.
The Prime Minister has reportedly given them three months to submit the progress report.
