Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday sanctioned Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of those killed in the hospital blaze in Bhubaneshwar two days back, PMO said.

He also sanctioned Rs 50,000 to each of those seriously injured from the PM’s National Relief Fund, the PMO added.
Earlier on Monday, the Prime Minister had voiced “deep anguish” at the loss of lives in the hospital blaze, calling it “mind-numbing”.
“Deeply anguished by the loss of lives in the hospital fire in Odisha. The tragedy is mind-numbing. My thoughts are with bereaved families,” he had tweeted on that day.
He had also spoken to Union health minister J P Nadda and asked him to facilitate transfer of all those injured to AIIMS.
