“Sarpanch Nagrota Rameshwar Dutt telephonically informed police that sarpanch of Dhok Warzian, Raman Wazir, left home on July 31st around 0900 hours and has not been traced since then,” a police officer said.
“On the information, a search operation was launched and his vehicle was recovered on the highway at Jagti in the outskirts of Jammu city,” she said, adding a missing report was registered in Nagrota police station.
Apart from the visit of top police officers to the spot, police teams armed with sniffer dogs and forensic science laboratory teams visited his home, spot and inspected the recovered vehicle amid search operation.
The services of technical teams is also being taken, police said, adding some suspects are also being questioned.
