Six dead, 14 injured in bus-truck collision in Uttar Pradesh

A state transport bus collided with a truck near Thandi Piyau on National Highway 51 in Kotwali Dehat area of Bulandshahr district at around 2.30 am on Sunday.

Six people, including four women, were killed and 14 others were injured in a bus-truck collision in Kotwali Dehat area of Bulandshahr district in the wee hours of Sunday, police said.

Inspector at Kotwali Dehat police station, Tapeshwar Sagar said a state transport bus collided with a truck near Thandi Piyau on National Highway 51 at around 2.30 am.

“Six people, including four women, died on the spot,” he said.

The deceased were identified as bus driver Siyaram Tyagi of Dholpur in Rajasthan, Sunita Devi and Aradhana of Sikandra (Agra), Anjali of Bhogipur (Agra), Anil of Agra and Suneeta Devi of Mohan (Aligarh), he said.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the injured have been admitted to the district hospital, he said.
