1,425 pilgrims leave for Amarnath cave shrine

A fresh batch of 1425 pilgrims left for Amarnath cave in south Kashmir Himalayas from Jammu on Tuesday.

A fresh batch of 1425 pilgrims left for the Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas from Jammu on Tuesday.

The batch, including 280 women and 36 children, left in a fleet of 39 vehicles from the base camp of MAM stadium at around 5.00 am, officials said.

The pilgrims were expected to reach their destinations at Pahalgam and Baltal by this evening.

With Tuesday's batch, as many as 65,371 devotees from different parts of the country left from Jammu for the cave shrine since the commencement of the pilgrimage on June 10.
