Amid tight security, the 23rd batch of pilgrims comprising 1,625 people on Friday left for the Amarnath yatra from Jammu, police said.

As many as 1,010 men, 251 women, 40 children and 325 sadhus in a cavalcade of 52 vehicles left from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp here, in the wee hours Friday, for the 13,500 feet high cave shrine situated in the south Kashmir Himalayas.
Including Friday's batch, as many as 65,191 pilgrims have left Jammu in 23 batches for their onward journey to the cave shrine.
