Jammu, July 10 (PTI) The 'man-made lingum' controversy failed to dampen the spirits of Amarnath yatris, as a record 1.95 lakh pilgrims had 'darshan' at the holy cave shrine so far, a spokesman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board said today.

"A record number of 1,94,383 pilgrims have had darshan of holy ice lingum of Lord Shiva" and the two lakh arrival mark would be achieved in a day or two, the spokesman said.

"Faith has surpassed the ice lingum constroversy," he said and also alleged that the issue was raked up by the media in order to "sell their stories" and some "vested interests" which wanted to "scuttle" the two-month-long Yatra.

Nearly six to seven thousand pilgirms are on their way to the holy cave shrine and the number of yatris is gradually increasing, unlike the tourists, the spokesman said.
