11-yr-old girl recites 1300 verses
Chennai's 11 year old Priyanka Ravi recited 1300 Ramayana verses continously for six and half hours.

Priyanka Ravi, a 11-year-old sixth standard student today attempted a new world record by reciting 1300 verses from Bala Kandam chapter of Kamba Ramayana continously for six and half hours here at Velammal Matric, Higher Secondary School.
The school officials said the event, which began at 0830 hrs ended at 1530 hrs.
The girl will attempt the feat again before the judges of Limca book of world records.
The girl said it took one year for her to memorise the verses.
Many parents and teachers were present to witness the event.
The officials said, the school was conducting such events to bring out the talents of students individually.
