The Indians were part of a group of 24 illegal immigrants, who were trying to enter into Ukraine from Russia on Tuesday without proper documents in the Klimovo sector of Bryansk region, RIA Novosti reported quoting FSB.

The group also comprised two Pakistanis and three Bangladeshi nationals.

Russia has tightened checks against illegal immigrants following the signing of re-admission Treaty with the European Union last week, under which Moscow is obliged to accept back all illegal immigrants from EU if they reach there via the Russian territory.

Moscow, which also insists on signing a similar treaty with New Delhi as a pre-condition for easing visa rules, has already suspended issuance of business visas for Indians.

Many Russia-based Indian companies accredited with State Registration Chamber have complained that it is refusing to accept their visa applications on interior ministry orders.
