Fourteen labourers have been seriously injured when the roof of an under construction mall collapsed in the district.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening when the roof of Mahagun Metro Mall in Indirapuram caved in, District Magistrate Deepak Agarwal said.

The labourers were later rescued and sent to different hospitals in Ghaziabad and Delhi on Wednesday night, he said.

The magistrate has ordered an inquiry into the incident. SSP Deepak Ratan said that a case of negligence has been registered against the owner and the contractor.
