A routine patrol party of security forces detected the IED planted by ultras in a plastic container on a road at Batungla-Goha, 15-kms south west of Doda town, he said.

The area was cordoned off and the experts neutralised the explosives on-the-spot, the spokesman said.

By neutralising the IED, a major tragedy was averted as the road is frequented by Army and civil traffic, he added.
